Gazillion Goodies

Have I ever professed my love for the Top Note die? If you look at these treats, it's the shape that cuts out these tags. I decorated them up a little. These are some treats that I will be handing out to my coworker's kids for Halloween. They are filled with 5 homemade chocolates.

Witch's hats

I found this idea on a nice blog I found. As soon as I saw this project, I knew I had to go get some of those little cups and make them! Instead of peanut butter cups, I found caramel ones. I ended up getting 40 of them and made them all this afternoon.

They turned out pretty cute! I am a bit disappointed that I had to retape some of them as the snail didn't hold it together permanently.

All in all it was a very easy and cute Halloween craft :)

Halloween suckers

Yesterday afternoon, I used my "mad woman" skills and made a whole lot of chocolate suckers. I decided to line them up to get an inventory of what I had and what I didn't have. New ones for this year include a mummy and an alien in a spaceship. I thought he was cute! and I have the perfect green for him. Since we can't see them all that well, I did a close up in smaller groups.

1- Skeleton
2- Cat
3- Witch
4- Mummy

5- Bat
6- Bat on top of pumpkin
7- Ghost and mini pumpkin
8- Pumpkins

9- Halloween cat
10- Ghost trick or treating with pumpkin
11- Pumpkin with a hat
12- Alien in spaceship
13- Cat

14- Spider web with spider
15- Skull with hat
16- Pumpkin
17- Witch on broom

When I look at the pictures, I find that they don't do them justice! They look much nicer in person. Also when I give them out they are all wrapped nicely with a Halloween ribbon, and the packaging makes things so much nicer!

So now when people ask me for chocolate suckers, they can see the samples on here!

Enjoy...

morning madness

So what goes on in Casa de Maelie's mama at 4:30 in the morning? Why, these Halloween invites!

As I am having an english party for Maelie's classmates (last post showed the invites), I needed to have a little french get together for our french friends. I was thinking a pumpkin decorating party hence the use of pumpkins for the little invitations. I found this idea on someone's blog, however I don't remember whose blog it was! When and if I see it again, I will link it here. Each little cup contains a little bit of candy. The insides of the little 3 X 3 cards will contain the party information. Fitting these in an envelope will be the hard part! I figured I would give an invitation to each sibling because if i just hand out one invitation per family, there might be a bit of fighting for the candy! I would have liked to put some little jelly belly's in the cups, however I didn't have any on hand! And Bulk Barn is not open at 4:30 am.

I also had time to make these little mint chocolates covered with a Halloween stamped image. I find these adorable! They are so simple to make and they just add a little Halloween look!

Halloween party invites

I had a bit of a hard time creating Maelie's Halloween party invitations. This is what I came up with:

She loved it! So now I just need to multiply it and print off the details on the inside.

It looks much better in person, especially with the glitter on the witches hat and the spider.

Halloween lover's best friend

Here is the TRUE treat of the season.... Wilton's chocolate melts in Midnight Black and Spooky Green.

They make the bats and spiders look scarier... the witches look nastier.... Halloween would never be the same without these colors! I was SO looking forward to finding them again. To top it off, they were on sale at Michael's this week!

The black is really black. You can see the difference between a dark chocolate melt and this one. Another good thing about it is that at Easter, it is also the perfect color to blend with white melts to make grey. I have a 3-D mouse mold that ended up PERFECT with the shade of grey I was able to make. I will definitely stock up this year.

Wedding favors

I've been working on some wedding favors for a friend. I had to make 100 of these little suckers! I love making personalized treats... the little tag adds an even more personal touch!

Here is the other side of the tag:
